It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.
The SD-5980 also performs 3:2 pulldown reversal. DVD mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion. The "expanded" mode in the player's black-level setting produces richer, deeper black tones in every image. PLUGE (Picture Line Up Generation Equipment) delivers black as well as below-black signals to a television.
Digital picture zoom is an interactive DVD feature that lets you select and magnify an area of a picture you want to zoom in on. Enhanced digital processing during moving video or freeze-frame playback produces high color fidelity and resolution, even when you're zoomed in. You can also use this feature to expand letterbox-only films to full-screen (4:3 aspect ratio) dimension.
For audio, choose from 2-channel analog audio outs (which benefit from 24-bit/192 kHz digital-to-analog audio converters) or either of 2 forms of digital-audio output, optical or coaxial, for transmitting discrete, multichannel surround signals--either Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS 5.1--to a compatible audio/video receiver and speaker system. (Both Dolby and DTS signals can be transmitted via HDMI as well.)

Panasonic Dmp-Bd75 recapitulate - Blu-Ray On A budget
If you are searching for a lower-priced Blu-ray Player that still provides great features, the Panasonic Dmp-Bd75 maybe the right player for you. Even though this entry-level player, priced colse to 0.00, does not have as many extra features (non-compatible with 3D content, lacking Wi-Fi) of the higher-end models. The Dmp-Bd75 more than delivers with an easy to use interface, unbelievable fast loading speeds, a built-in Ethernet connection, plays Blu-rays at Full 720p, 1080i, or 1080p video resolution via the Hdmi output, online streaming services, Usb playback, Dlna quality and more.
Continuing its attempt to be environmentally friendly, Panasonic has made the attempt to downsize the dimensions of the Dmp-Bd75 in order to sacrifice packaging. The slimmer create also helps it keep pace with the popular ,favorite designs of its competitors. On the front you will find the power button, the Lcd display screen, the disc loading tray, a few basic control buttons as well as a Usb Port. All other connections are settled at the rear of the player.

Also, the vertical color reference process has been increased by 1.5 times from that of past players. Video Connectivity includes one Hdmi yield and one Composite Video Output.
Audio Quality: The Dmp-Bd75 did not skimp on audio quality either. Over a Hdmi association you get 7.1-ch surround sound. It has 192kHz/24bit Dacs and internal decoding of the latest High-Resolution audio formats - Dolby TrueHd and Dts-Hd devotee Audio. It can also forward bit-stream yield for these formats to be decoded by a A/V receiver. The Hdmi Pure Audio feature helps to enhance the audio quality permitting natural bass sound pregnancy with diminished noise. Along with the Hdmi output, the Dmp-Bd75 has 2.0-ch analog outputs.

Priced under a hundred dollars, the player provides great features that includes online streaming of Netflix, Cinemanow, YouTube, Amazon, and Vudu, Fast loading times, Usb, a new easy to use Gui, Dlna certification (stream video from your Pc) and of course it can playback Blu-ray discs at 1080p/24 video resolution. As well as supporting the latest Hd audio formats - Dolby TrueHd and Dts-Hd devotee Audio.
The Cons: As an entry-level player it is missing a few features you will find in higher end players, such as on board memory for storage, 3D playback, extra video and audio features and Wi-Fi capabilities. It is also missing Panasonic's new Skype features.
The Final Word: The Dmp-Bd75 may be a very basic Blu-ray player, but it does these basic features very well. Providing you with excellent video and audio quality on Blu-rays, Dvds, and Cds.
