The Sling Media Slingbox Pro-Hd is device that allows you to stream you home Tv/Cable Tv channels on to your home network or the internet, so that it can be viewed by other devices such as other Tvs, your laptop or your desktop. If it is streamed over the internet, you can watch the channels on your mobile device from everywhere around the world. This model is a succeed up from the extremely popular Slingbox Pro. This new model can stream Hd videos onto a network.
The new Slingbox Pro-Hd as a more contemporary and serious compose compared to its predecessor (a casual white and red design). This new model has a black and silver casing. The front is made of a silver metal mesh.
Setting up the Slingbox Pro-Hd was relatively easy. Instead of providing the Cd with all the significant software, you will have to download the Sling Player software over the internet from the manufacturer's website. The facility was pretty easy and straightforward.
If you plan to stream Hd videos over the internet, you must at least have a 1.5mbps upload speed. If you down, you can still watch the videos at a lower resolution. Since I don't have an internet associate with that upload speed, this device worked best for me at home (with my local network connection). The Slingbox Pro-Hd is not wireless ready, which is quite a shame. It also does not reserve Hdmi inputs. Although this new model comes with a few flaws, it is still a pretty cool slight device for sharing your Tv/Cable channels.
